Deputy Principal - Senior Campus
Full-time Permanent Details: Melba Copland Secondary School is a dual campus year 7 to 12 school with rapidly growing enrolments. MCSS is seeking a motivated and determined school leader to work as an integral part of the senior executive. The team consists of four deputy principals who lead strategically and operationally. This position is located on the senior campus (years 10 to 12). Our strategic priorities are to ensure learning progress for all students and to establish and grow engaging pathways for all students. These priorities are enacted through embedding PBL practices 7-12, embedding trauma informed practices 7-12 and establishing a culture of high expectations and student growth through PLTs and quality differentiated practices.
The successful applicant will:
Co-lead the operational requirements of a growing senior campus for years 10 to 12.
Collaborate with senior executive to grow the Multi-tiered System of Support Model (MTSS) at MCSS which includes Flexible Learning and Transition and Careers Education.
Lead the implementation of the PBL framework and trauma informed practices.
Strategically lead the wellbeing support processes and case management structures 10-12.
Lead inclusive education philosophies and practices 10-12.
Work collaboratively across campus with the Wellbeing and Inclusion Deputy Principal 7-9 to establish consistent practices 7-12 practices and school culture.
Eligibility/Other requirements:
A minimum of 4 years full time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification.
Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) or eligibility to obtain TQI.
Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) - Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
