Deputy Principal Secondary - The Henry Lawson High SchoolThe Henry Lawson High School is a rural co-educational secondary school with an enrolment of 187 students, including 23 students who identify as Aboriginal.
The school has an established strong relationship with partner primary schools from Grenfell and surrounding districts.

Position Information

The Henry Lawson High School is seeking a Deputy Principal who will contribute to the school's mission of providing quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment.

Selection Criteria

Demonstrated capacity to build authentic connections and collaborate with parents and the community, to strengthen a culture of productive educational partnerships that improve outcomes for all students.

Demonstrated positive and engaging leadership that builds staff capacity and the collective responsibility to lead improvement and change that has resulted in consistent best practice and improved learning outcomes.

Demonstrated capacity to lead excellence and innovation with a deep understanding of the educational needs of students in a rural community.

Demonstrated evidence in leading the management and organisation of whole school operations with the ability to develop and evaluate these processes to enhance student engagement and wellbeing.

General Selection Criteria

Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice.

Knowledge of curriculum, assessment, and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs.

Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams.

Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff, and parents.

Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning.

Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy.

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement.
If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
