You will focus on the efficient and effective development of Deputy's product and services, ensure we release the highest quality software quickly and push the team to be world class. You will be key to driving a quality-centric, rapid iteration culture.

Responsibilities Develop and own a long-term vision for quality across the organisation. Identify and implement new testing paradigms (technical and process) to power growth in product and engineering. Design and execute on comprehensive test strategies across engineering. Architect, build, and scale highly efficient, robust, and reusable test automation frameworks for functional, regression, performance, and stress testing. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, product, and engineering stakeholders to influence architectural decisions that ensure testability and quality. Lead in triaging and diagnosing complex issues, assessing impact, and determining solutions that drive fast resolution and minimal disruption. Ensure seamless integration of tests into CI/CD pipelines, optimising workflows for speed and reliability. Provide strategic insights through reporting on the coverage and effectiveness of testing strategies. Mentor and lead engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation in quality assurance. Be an advocate for best practices in testing, quality, and engineering processes, driving forward the adoption of the latest tools and methodologies across teams and projects. Skills & Experience Extensive experience in modern OOP languages is essential — we primarily use PHP, JavaScript, and Golang. Advanced knowledge of API testing, including RESTful, OpenAPI/Swagger, and gRPC. Deep experience with building, automating, and scaling E2E test frameworks using tools like Playwright, WebdriverIO and Maestro for web and mobile testing. Highly proficient with SQL for debugging and resolving complex data issues, driving data-driven testing practices. Architect and maintain scalable testing frameworks and tooling, enabling efficient testing across multiple environments and platforms. Build comprehensive reporting tools that provide actionable insights into test coverage, performance metrics, and areas for improvement. Partner with DevOps and engineering teams to drive continuous delivery and automated release processes, utilising tools like Jenkins and advanced CI/CD pipelines. Influence and lead quality-centric methodologies throughout the entire software development lifecycle, with a focus on improving performance and scalability. Expertise in working with large-scale cloud-based infrastructure such as AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure, applying testing solutions at a global scale.
