The Position: Due to the College's continued growth, we are seeking a Deputy Principal of Secondary to work at our Werribee Campus. This is a significant new leadership position that reports directly to the Principal of the secondary school and will assist in the school's overall effectiveness.
The successful candidate will help lead our learning programs, written programs, and development of school policy and procedures. This will be a permanent Full-Time position which includes a .2 FTE teaching load and an allowance plus you will complete a major three-year review.
The Person: The Deputy Principal of Secondary Werribee will:
Create a mindset that acknowledges that each member of the team has an integral role in achieving the purpose, mission and vision of our College with a Kingdom mindset. Establish and maintain a God-honouring spiritual and emotional atmosphere with effective lines of communication developed for all staff, students and parents/guardians. In conjunction with the Principal of Secondary, develop policies, goals and objectives in keeping with the College's educational philosophy and direction as approved by the Senior Leadership Team. Encourage an environment of continual improvement, including the ongoing evaluation of College policies, curriculum, programs and practices. Education and Experience: Be a skilled educator within the teaching profession with a Minimum Degree in Education. Minimum Degree in Education and substantial experience in a leadership position, with a preferred Master's degree to support this leadership position. Have a demonstrated commitment to the Lordship of Christ in all areas of their life. Be able to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the achievement of the College's mission and educational direction. Have extensive experience and a deep understanding of current educational programs, trends, practices, and policies. The ability to build their team members' capacity and create a positive, healthy, Christ Centred culture within the team. Be committed to the development and empowerment of the staff. Have a strong organisational skillset. A demonstrated ability to be collaborative in a leadership context. Professional Attributes: Inspires others to develop through servant-hearted leadership. Is a strategic thinker who knows their strengths, seeks varied perspectives and thinks outside the box. Is solution-oriented with a positive outlook on all things. Relates well to others with strong pastoral skills. Is intuitive when engaging with others and responds in a supportive and proactive manner. Pursues wisdom and discernment and acts appropriately.
