Salary: Level 3, $132,143 - $144,601 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)
This is a 3-month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension (3 months) and/or permanency Gidgegannup Primary School (PS) was opened in 1992 and is located in the Shire of Swan and considered to be outer Metropolitan. The school is in a very tranquil setting, being on the outskirts of town and backing onto a rural aspect. The classroom clusters are built on the contours of a hill using this elevation to advantage.
Gidgegannup PS is a level 4 primary school with a total enrolment just under 200 students. Many of our students travel to and from school on one of five buses. The school has three teaching blocks each consisting of a 5-classroom cluster, and a resource block containing the school library, art room and music room. We currently provide Art, Music, Science, Physical Education and Literacy support. Our Language Other Than English (LOTE) language is Chinese which is delivered online by video link with Beijing.
Gidgegannup PS is seeking a highly effective leader who is ready to build upon their proven skills and abilities and take them to the next level. Strong curriculum leadership and experience in implementing school improvement and change management processes is highly important. The Deputy Principal works collaboratively as part of a cohesive, team orientated, and solutions focussed administration and wider leadership team. The successful applicant should have a focus on building and supporting distributed leadership across the school as we continue with our improvement agenda.
Ideally, the Deputy Principal should be highly organised and motivated. They also should have displayed capacity to establish and sustain effective collaborative approach in leading whole school improvement, instructional practice, and curriculum development with a strong focus on English and Mathematics.
The Deputy Principal will ideally have a commitment to continual improvement evidenced with explicit, measured outcomes and effective data analysis which results in a cohesive, connected approach to curriculum and pedagogical development across the school. They will ideally lead staff across the school to achieve the whole school initiatives and Business Plan targets.
