We are seeking to establish a pool of Deputy Principals for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2025 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.
At Booragoon Primary School (PS) we provide a positive, collaborative and cooperative environment for our students to help nurture a lifelong love of learning. Our school, which caters for Kindergarten to Year 6, is situated in the South Metropolitan suburb of Booragoon, a stone's throw from Garden City Shopping Centre. The buildings and grounds are well established and maintained, providing an excellent environment for both students and staff. We have four teaching blocks including an onsite Kindergarten, two purpose-built Pre-primary units and a senior teaching block. A multi-purpose building incorporates a Visual Arts room, a Science Lab, an instrumental music room and a fully automated library.
To be considered for a leadership position at Booragoon PS, applicants should display excellent communication and interpersonal skills including an ability to coach, mentor and lead staff and students. Working collaboratively with staff, parents and students to develop and promote a culture of high expectations through whole school positive values-based behavioural systems is highly desirable. You will ideally have the ability to develop strong relationships and an affinity with students, staff and parents in an open and approachable manner. An ability to autonomously facilitate operational projects would also be highly regarded.
Suitable applicants should be able to display their ability to lead, manage and monitor the continuous school improvement cycle and drive the enhancement of high-quality teaching and learning in every classroom of the school. They should be committed to a model of consultative, collaborative and instructional leadership. They will ideally have an extensive knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and a proven history of assisting and developing teachers.
