The Role We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will collaborate with the Thornlie community to provide the best educational outcomes for our Year 7 – 12 students. Working with the Principal and the executive team, the Deputy Principal will provide strategic educational and training leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school's vision, business plan and strategic directions across the school. The successful applicant will be an effective strategic leader and manager of resources. They will demonstrate strong knowledge of high impact instructional strategies and the ability to lead the whole school in improving pedagogical practices. They will also have a leadership role in school curriculum planning and programs and will need to demonstrate a sound working knowledge of the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE), West Australian Curriculum, SCSA compliance, Big Picture Learning Design and Vocational Education & Training. The successful applicant will also support the HOLAs and the Registered Training Organisation Manager to ensure compliance. The successful applicant will monitor student data and work collaboratively to enable active student engagement, positive behaviour, academic achievement, and teacher self-efficacy. They will have a clear understanding of the Thornlie SHS learning environment and prepare adolescent students for success in secondary school and beyond.
