Brabham Primary School (PS) is seeking a committed, resilient, highly motivated, and relational leader to fill this Deputy Principal role. The school community have worked together to introduce a Positive Behaviour Support approach. The development and implementation of a high impact instruction model, a whole school approach to assessment, and a tiered response to intervention have also been priority focus areas for the school and for the Leadership Team.
The ideal candidate should be adaptable and proficient in managing change, display a strong understanding of instructional intelligence strategies, and have the ability to support and facilitate teacher growth. They should also possess a deep understanding of complex behaviour and multi-tiered systems of support, show agility and competence with technology, display social intelligence and effective interpersonal skills, and have the courage to contribute as a cohesive member of a leadership team. The successful applicant will ideally be able to demonstrate: a commitment to positive relationships, high expectations, being culturally responsive, and working collaboratively to contribute to strengthening our vison of success for all within a culture of excellence and inclusion.
Brabham PS is located 26 kilometres from the centre of Perth in the growing suburb of Brabham, near the Caversham area, surrounded by rapidly developing housing estates with many young families. The school accommodates students from Kindergarten to Year 6. Our school community includes families of different backgrounds and cultures, many from overseas where English is not always the first language or dialect spoken at home.
This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position. 
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings. High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes. Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students (e.g. Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs). Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources. Applications will be assessed against the work related requirements of the position. Complete the Department's Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement. Complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy. The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
