Salary: Level 3, $132,143 - $144,601 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)
This is a 12 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension and/or permanency.

At Northam Primary School (PS), we cater for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and currently have just over 300 students.
Our students come from the local town and from the outlying farms and rural properties.

Our school fosters a safe and inclusive learning environment; we focus on building positive relationships with students, their parents and carers, and with the wider community.
Our staff, comprising of newly graduated teachers through to teachers with many years of experience and our experienced and dedicated non-teaching staff, work together to develop individual potential through excellence in education.
We have specialist teachers in science, music, languages, and sport and a learning support co-ordinator.

We are looking for a collaborative and dedicated professional who demonstrates exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, values strong relationships with staff, students, and families, and is committed to achieving the best possible educational outcomes for all students.

The Deputy Principal will work closely with the Leadership Team and staff to foster a school-wide, growth-focused culture.
The successful applicant will ideally have a commitment to enhancing this culture by showcasing how they contribute to:
Enhancing teacher effectiveness by leading Mathematics curriculum development and providing teacher support.
Leading and supporting Professional Learning Communities, utilizing student learning data to drive improvement cycles.
Implementing high-impact teaching strategies and evidence-based interventions informed by Teaching for Impact.
Enriching distributed leadership by empowering and mentoring others.
The successful applicant should have the skills and experience to lead and support the 3-6 Phase of Learning Team.
At Northam Primary School, this role involves promoting evidence-based pedagogy, explicit teaching, and differentiated teaching and learning programs.
The Deputy Principal's role also includes line management, leadership responsibilities for Years 3-6, and strategic planning to best utilise human resources to support the diverse needs of the student cohort.

In implementing whole-school approaches, the Deputy Principal will leverage their expertise in Positive Behaviour Support, successfully fostering positive, restorative outcomes for students with challenging behaviours.
