Salary: Level 3, $132,143 - $144,601 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2021)
This is a 9 month fixed term, full-time position commencing Term 1, 2025 with possible extension. Rangeway Primary School (PS) is seeking an inspiring and dedicated leader to join our friendly team in the role of Deputy Principal.
Rangeway PS, located in Geraldton in the Midwest region, is recognised as being socio-economically disadvantaged with an Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage (ICSEA) value of 755 which places it in the tenth decile of social disadvantage. With an enrolment of 273, seventy-four percent (74%) of students are Aboriginal. Complex and inter-related factors such as intergenerational poverty, domestic violence, mental health issues, drugs, alcohol, poor attendance and high rates of transiency contribute to significant disadvantage factors which impact on learning potential.
Despite these disadvantage factors, staff at Rangeway PS hold high expectations for academic achievement, often achieving above 'like school' standards due to the supportive and collaborative environment created at the school.
The successful applicant will manage and lead the staff and students by providing instructional curriculum and pedagogic leadership under the direction of the Principal, with a strong focus on Aboriginal community engagement.
In collaboration with the Principal, the Deputy Principal provides educational leadership in the school and the community by developing and promoting the school vision and establishing strong relationships with students, staff and the community. The successful applicant would ideally display high level skills and knowledge of curriculum, coaching, delivering professional learning and school operations.

The successful applicant should effectively manage student behaviour and knowledge of Trauma Informed Practice and Positive Behaviour Implementation will be highly regarded. You will ideally be able to manage a range of operational duties including student behaviour, human resourcing and interagency support in what can sometimes be a dynamic and quickly changing environment. The successful applicant will ideally possess the ability to promote cohesive relationships amongst colleagues to foster a collaborative and supportive team approach within the school.
