The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of leading teaching and learning across the school to ensure that all students experience growth. The role will include oversight and management of staffing across the school. The successful applicant should have proven experience in building high-performing teams, building staff capacity, and demonstrated experience around enhancing student outcomes. Working as a key member of the senior executive team, the SLB will set the direction of the school in line with our Annual Action Plan.Job Description:As a member of a united, strategic, and innovative executive team, drive whole-school priorities and implement the school action plan.Lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) to promote authentic, evidence-based collaboration that drives improvement.Lead and manage staffing across the school, including oversight of teams responsible for Timetable, SAS, enrolment, staff playground duty rosters, and teaching loads.Utilising a distributed leadership framework, lead teaching and learning across the school. Enhance student outcomes through the effective delivery of targeted professional learning and further implementation of evidence-based and innovative teaching practices across the school.Coach and mentor school executive and Deakin 7 team leaders to lead curriculum and pedagogical improvement.Oversee the domestic and overseas excursion process, including risk management and approval in line with Directorate excursion policies and physical activities mandatory procedures.Undertake an appropriate teaching load and other duties as determined by the Principal.Eligibility/Other Requirements:A minimum of four years full-time (or equivalent) tertiary study leading to the award of a recognised school teaching qualification.Current professional teaching registration with the ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) or eligibility to obtain TQI.Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.Applicants should note that a Joint Selection Committee (JSC) established in accordance with the collective/enterprise agreement provisions will assess all applications for this position.
