Full time ongoing position Salary based on experience, range: $111,263 - $123,624 plus super Up to $15,900 in salary packaging and hybrid WFH & office model About the role: As a Deputy Managing Lawyer, you will use your experience to contribute to the Goulburn north-east community. Reporting to the Regional Manager, this role involves day-to-day operations of legal staff, including rostering, advocacy, and mentoring. The Deputy Managing Lawyer will serve as a senior lawyer, managing complex casework, primarily in criminal law, while also leading the development and training of lawyers with support from the Regional Manager contributing to a supportive and dynamic legal aid environment. About you: As our ideal candidate, you will possess: A current Australian practising certificate which entitles you to practise in Victoria as a government legal practitioner (mandatory). Proven ability in people management and leadership, fostering team development and motivation. Extensive legal practice experience, specializing in criminal law, with a track record of handling complex cases effectively. Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with diverse stakeholders, including disadvantaged clients. Proven capacity to identify regional legal and policy issues, contributing to effective responses aligned with organizational strategies. Commitment to collaborative work and cultivating a supportive team environment, promoting cooperation and teamwork. Flexibility to travel as needed between Cobram, Benalla, and Seymour to provide service delivery. Don't meet every requirement?
