What You Will Be Doing
Accountable to the Head of Social Work this leadership position will be responsible for fostering clinical excellence in Social Work service provision across acute, sub-acute and palliative care settings and more broadly, through supervision and knowledge translation.
The Deputy Head of Social Work will demonstrate expert clinical knowledge on complex psychosocial matters, provision of operational leadership, supervision, social work recruitment, service improvement and facilitation of evidence based practice.
This position will be recognised as an expert by peers across and external to the Social Work profession and will motivate and inspire others.
This position will take a key role in leading the day to day operations of the Social Work Department, provide senior clinical leadership and mentoring of social work staff.
This role will provide mentoring and professional supervision to Grade 3 Social Work staff in defined roles in consultation with the Head of Social Work.
This busy role will require a social work leader who is capable of working in a fast paced environment, able to balance competing demands and identify barriers to address complex psychosocial matters.

What You Need?
We anticipate you will have:

Currently holds a Bachelor / Post Graduate degree in Social Work from an accredited University Social Work program including eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
Relevant post graduate qualifications in clinical leadership and/or management is desirable.
Has the ability and experience in the leadership, supervision and management of Social Workers.
This includes demonstrated ability to identify and lead change across the service to improve service delivery models and meet identified KPIs.
Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and clinical experience in the provision of Social Work services across a broad range of clinical areas.
