Our tagline 'dare to be more' is not only our goal for our students, it applies equally to our staff.Our highly professional staff, under the guidance of Principal Ms Lisa Moloney, challenge girls and encourage them to question traditional perceptions and roles of women.About the positionMLC School is seeking a dynamic and innovative Deputy Head of Junior School (Curriculum) to join our Junior School Leadership Team. This role is pivotal in leading the development of curriculum and pedagogical innovations in a contemporary, student-centred learning environment from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Junior School and the Head of Learning and Teaching to foster an exceptional learning experience for our students.Key Responsibilities:Contribute to the delivery of MLC School's Strategic Plan with a focus on curriculum and pedagogical innovation.Lead the ongoing improvement of educational outcomes for all students as they transition to and from the Junior School.Promote and implement innovative learning and teaching practices using effective assessment tools and data.Support staff professional development and foster a culture of continuous improvement.Engage with parents, guardians, and external providers to enhance the educational experience.Participate in the broader educational community to contribute to the sector and enhance learning and teaching at MLC School.Selection Criteria:Deep understanding of the academic needs of girls in the early and primary years.Thorough knowledge of curriculum design, development, application and evaluation.Knowledge and understanding of contemporary best practice in learning, teaching and innovation.Experience in leadership, including facilitating innovative programs in a variety of educational settings.Ability to develop and implement policy, structures and systems which ensure all aspects of the MLC School Learning Framework are embedded through the lens of contemporary pedagogy and best practice.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of current curricula, learning frameworks and research informed approaches to learning and innovation in schools.Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary educational issues with a focus on the link between learning and student wellbeing.Qualifications and Experience:Minimum of 5 years' experience in a school or educational environment in middle management.Tertiary qualifications in education and a minimum of Proficient Teacher Accreditation (NSW) or equivalent.Experience as a classroom teacher.Desirable: Postgraduate qualifications in curriculum, pedagogy, or educational leadership, and current First Aid qualifications.The successful candidate will be rewarded with a number of excellent benefits including:Dedicated focus on professional growth and development.CPR and First Aid Certification.State of the art facilities and collegiate environment.Discounted School fees.On-site parking, and easy access to public transport.Access to the School's gym and indoor Aquatic Centre.How to apply:All applications are to be submitted via MLC School's online Careers Portal and include:a cover letter addressing the vacancy being applied for;a resume (including the names and contact details of three confidential referees); anda copy of your academic transcript.Applications close on 28th November 2024.Please note the advertising closing date is indicative only and MLC School reserves the right to close the advertisement before this date is reached.
