As Deputy General Counsel at Swyftx, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the legal landscape of the company and guiding us through a transformative era of regulatory evolution.
Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will serve as a cornerstone of our legal team, offering strategic guidance and counsel on a wide spectrum of matters including Australian Financial Services Licensing (AFSL), commercial transactions, and regulatory compliance.

We are headquartered in Brisbane where we do hybrid working, but we are also open to this role being fully remote from Sydney or Melbourne.
Some of your key responsibilities in this role will include: Oversee legal reviews and provide counsel on Swyftx's product, marketing, and sales initiatives.
Offer guidance on compliance with evolving regulatory frameworks, including Australian Financial Services Licensing (AFSL) laws.
Review, negotiate, and draft various commercial agreements.
Support the General Counsel on major projects and corporate initiatives.
Monitor regulatory changes and provide relevant reports to the Executive team.
Drive continuous improvement, scalability, and operational excellence in corporate legal processes and execution.
To be successful you will have: Relevant post-qualification experience, ideally from a top-tier law firm or related in-house environment.
Substantial experience with AFSL law and financial services regulatory matters, gained from private practice or in-house roles.
A strong understanding of commercial contracts and regulatory landscapes, with a preference for corporate or technology-focused practice groups.
Knowledge of crypto regulatory frameworks and a willingness to contribute to shaping Swyftx's policy positioning.
Ownership mindset with accountability end-to-end and the ability to seek support when needed.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the capacity to provide clear, practical advice tailored to diverse audiences.
Strong project management and organisational abilities, coupled with meticulous attention to detail.
