The key duties of the position include:The Role
The position undertakes the Air Mobility Group Quality Manager (AMG QM) and Technical Assurance role, which is the interface between the regulator/authority (DASA) and the operational units. Responsible directly to Military Air Operator (MAO) and the AMG Continuing Airworthiness Manager (CAM) for DASA regulation concerns and management of the quality system. The QM is the first point of contact for all technical assurance-related matters for AMG. Primary to this role is to develop, manage and execute an internal auditing program on behalf of CDR AMG and the CAM, and manage remediation outcomes of internal audits and DASA audit findings. The position ensures oversight of the Quality Management System (QMS) reducing the risk to AMG operations.
This is not limited to the technical domain of air operations, but also the flight operation and training aspects of the QMS. The position also leads the development of technical policy relating to continuing airworthiness and maintenance management across AMG operations.
About our TeamThis position is often the AMG or RAAF representative in many forums ranging from strategic workforce development in wider Defence forums to airworthiness considerations with DASA and broader Defence. As the AMG QM, the incumbent participates in compliance governance boards for each AMG platform (5+ per month); integral contributor to airworthiness boards for each platform contributing to the development of the CAM submission (6 per year); platform enterprise management meetings for each platform (ranging between weekly and monthly up to ~8 per month); DMFP forums for each individual platform (5 per year). These forums are generally made up of members between O5 level and O7 level. The incumbent also represents DLC and (CAM) functions in O6 level engagements when they are otherwise engaged or absent from duties.
Our Ideal CandidateThis position requires strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage with various stakeholders across Defence. The ideal candidate should have a background in quality management and technical assurance, along with experience in compliance governance.
