#531060 Deputy Director of Pharmacy Department of Pharmacy Calvary Mater Newcastle Permanent Full-Time Permanent Full-TimeSalary Classification: Pharmacist Grade 4 Yr 1-2.Remuneration: $68.28 - $70.54 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO'sTHE ROLE: The Deputy Director of Pharmacy is responsible for the effective operation of cancer pharmacy services across the Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital (CMN) in collaboration with the Director of Pharmacy.
The Deputy Director oversees the provision and maintenance of high quality, efficient and innovative cancer pharmacy services and operations.
The position line manages a team of pharmacists, technicians and administration staff, supervises daily operations and maintains appropriate staffing allocations for delivery of effective pharmaceutical care.
This position is responsible for both clinical and managerial components related to the CMN Hospital's Cancer Pharmacy Service.
DUTIES: Demonstrate commitment to education through attendance and participation at pharmacy department education sessions, relevant conferences and/or seminars.Ensure legislative requirements, accreditation standards and other relevant guidelines relating to the pharmacy service are implemented and adhered to.Ensure pharmacy services are provided in a manner to ensure patient safety with respect to medications is optimised.Work with the Director of Pharmacy and Hospital Executive to deliver goals of strategic business plans that meets both current and future needs.Scope, develop and implement innovative pharmacy practice and services across the organisation.Coordinate relevant business cases to support new roles and innovation.Facilitate upskilling of all team members to deliver safe and efficient care.Encourage pharmacists to develop an educational plan for recording Continuing Professional Development points for registration with AHPRA.Liaise with medical and other staff as appropriate in regard to therapy regimens, and to promote economical and appropriate drug usage throughout the hospital.ABOUT YOU: Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (or eligible for registration within 3 months of commencement).Post registration clinical or management/leadership qualifications or equivalent skills/experience.Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice, preferably in a large teaching hospital, including experience managing the provision of pharmacy services in accordance with National Safety and Quality Health Standards.Previous experience and clinical competency in supporting a Haematology/Medical Oncology service in the inpatient and/or outpatient setting.Previous experience with managing personnel, human resources, staffing, training, WH&S, rostering, purchasing, budget etc.Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the demonstrated ability to co-ordinate and develop high quality written guidelines, procedures, educational, research or business materials (with limited guidance).Highly effective and demonstrated interpersonal skills, including the ability to create opportunity and adapt communication styles/techniques.Proven ability and commitment to effectively role model, champion and promote teamwork, develop talent, and ensure a positive workplace culture.Demonstrated skills and experience in service planning, including the identification, implementation and evaluation of initiatives to ensure continual quality enhancement.Demonstrated commitment to professional development.HOW DO YOU APPLY?
