About the role Grafton Base Hospital is seeking a Deputy Director of Nursing (DDoN), Medical and Critical Care, to work with the facility Director of Nursing and Midwifery and Nurse Manager peers. The DDoN is responsible for the efficient and effective day-to-day operational leadership and management of a comprehensive range of hospital services in accordance with NNSWLHD policy, community needs, and budgetary allocations. The DDoN is also responsible for the organisation and management of nursing services to ensure the provision of patient-centred, outcome-directed care.
Supporting the organisation to achieve the aims of the safety management system, to establish and maintain a positive health and safety culture in the workplace, and to consult with workers when making decisions that may impact upon health, safety, and welfare in the workplace.
Clinician engagement and leadership have been a major focus in the public health system, where clinician-led clinical standards, safety, and quality improvements are prioritized. The Local Health District (LHD) is committed to strengthening and ongoing involvement of clinicians in planning, delivery, improvement, and evaluation of health services.
