The role As the Deputy Director General (DDG) you will provide strategic direction and leadership to the Corporate Services and Labour Relations Group on private and public sector labour relations reform, policies and legislation and leading the delivery of corporate services. Drawing on your extensive leadership experience, you will be responsible for actively promoting strategies, policies and systems that provide strategic direction, and contribute to the achievement of corporate objectives and outcomes.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Group (ELG), you will be responsible for:
Supporting the Director General, and providing high level strategic direction and leadership to ensure outcomes identified in the department's strategic plan and ongoing reform initiatives are achieved;Providing executive level oversight of the Corporate Services, Government Sector Labour Relations, Private Sector Labour Relations, and Strategic Business Innovation divisions with clear accountability to deliver DEMIRS strategies;Formulating short to long-term strategic and operational plans and related outcomes and efficiently and effectively allocating and using resources within the Group to achieve outcomes;Providing leadership by actively promoting systems to achieve corporate objectives and outcomes with a focus on the coordination and integration of efficient and effective corporate systems.The Corporate Services and Labour Relations Group brings together a range of corporate functions which work collectively to help the organisation plan and operate by offering specialist advice and effective business systems and internal controls. The DDG is responsible for shaping and delivering department strategy and governance that deliver key government services.
