Future Generation Joint Venture (FGJV) is the principal contractor for Snowy Hydro's Snowy 2.0, Australia's largest committed renewable energy project. We bring the combined engineering expertise of three companies - Italy's Webuild (formerly Salini Impregilo), Australian-based Clough and US-based Lane Construction.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This iconic project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role: We are currently seeking a Deputy Construction Manager to join our Tantangara site on a 14/7 FIFO or DIDO roster. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Construction Manager in overseeing and coordinating all construction activities, ensuring they are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.Proven experience in a construction management role.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is advantageous.White Card.C Class driver's licence.Experience: Minimum 8 years' experience in construction, with at least 3 years in a management role.Extensive experience in tunnelling projects or underground construction.Proficiency in project management software and tools.In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, and best practices.Proficiency in coordinating construction activities, resources, and schedules.Highly effective leadership and team management skills to guide and motivate construction teams.Familiarity with local and international safety regulations and standards in construction.Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams, stakeholders, contractors, and the client.Ability to identify and effectively address construction-related challenges.Sound decision-making skills to ensure project progress and compliance.Experience in managing construction budgets and financial resources.Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Core Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Assist the Construction Manager in overseeing all construction activities, ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to coordinate construction schedules and resource allocation.Ensure construction activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards.Provide leadership and guidance to construction teams, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure construction meets project specifications.Facilitate effective communication between project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.Address and resolve construction-related conflicts or issues that may arise during project execution.Assist in monitoring construction budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost-effectiveness.Identify and mitigate risks associated with construction activities.Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in construction operations.The above-listed authorities and responsibilities are only a guide and may change as directed by your Manager/Supervisor or as per the requirements of FGJV Management.
