The Nurse Midwife Health Program Australia (NMHPA) is dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of nurses, midwives, and students by offering free, confidential, and compassionate health and wellbeing support services. With a vision of better health for healthcare workers and safer care for the public, NMHPA operates nationally through telehealth and in-person services across Australia, funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Deputy Chief Executive Officer to provide leadership and operational oversight to coordinators in each state and territory. Reporting to the CEO, this role is pivotal in ensuring effective implementation of the organisation's strategic goals and delivering high-quality support services. This is a full-time position, with the possibility of working from any NMHPA hub state or regional office across Australia. Interstate travel will be required to foster relationships and promote NMHPA's services nationally. The Role As the Deputy CEO, you will: Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight to NMHPA's services, ensuring effective execution of the CEO's strategic vision. Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to promote NMHPA's services and foster relationships with influential stakeholders, including government bodies, health organisations, and professional associations. Ensure all hubs deliver contemporary, accountable, and accessible services that meet the health and wellbeing needs of nurses, midwives, and students. Lead the development of promotional and educational materials, ensuring they are relevant and accessible. Oversee data collection and reporting, ensuring accuracy for strategic decision-making. Support the CEO with program reviews, marketing, and compliance to maintain high standards of care and operational efficiency. Manage financial efficiency and resource allocation across all NMHPA hubs, ensuring cost-effective operations. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Current registration as a nurse and/or midwife, and post-graduate qualifications in areas such as public health, mental health, or related fields. Proven leadership experience in health-related services or programs, with a strong track record of delivering measurable operational outcomes across multiple locations. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders. In-depth knowledge of the nursing and midwifery professions, including experience working with sensitive health issues, such as burnout, mental health challenges, drug and alcohol misuse and other complex matters. A collaborative mindset and excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
