From fire and land management to wildlife conservation and cultural education, Mimal is dedicated to sustaining a vibrant, healthy landscape for future generations.The area's natural and cultural assets are managed by Mimal Rangers on behalf of and in cooperation with landowners and custodians.Under an established Healthy Country Plan, the rangers manage land, water and fire, and conduct wildlife protection, monitoring and revegetation programs, weed and feral animal control, and carry out rock art, cultural history and language projects, and learning on country education programs with school children.The OpportunityAs Deputy CEO, you will be instrumental in Mimal Land Management's mission to safeguard Arnhem Land's cultural and environmental assets.Your responsibilities will include:Leading Corporate Operations: Overseeing daily operations, resource allocation, and workflow management to meet organisational objectivesManaging Human Resources: Developing and implementing HR policies, employee engagement, and staff training programs to foster a motivated teamStrategic and Financial Support: Collaborating with the CEO and Board on strategic planning, managing budgets, and ensuring alignment with financial policiesManaging and Strengthening Partnerships: Establishing and overseeing service agreements with partners and key projects, including Strong Women for Healthy Country and a new civil construction social enterpriseEnsuring Compliance: Leading compliance and risk management activities to meet regulatory, funding, and community standardsAbout YouQualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, HR, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred)Experience: Significant experience in senior operations or management roles, ideally within non-profit, land management, Indigenous community sectors, or NT governmentSkills: Proven leadership, cultural competence, contract management experience, and financial acumenAttributes: Integrity, adaptability, resilience, and a consultative approach to decision-makingCultural Sensitivity: Respectful of Indigenous values, with an understanding of land management practices and community-led initiativesYour RewardSalary in the range of $140-$150K plus 12.5% super and salary sacrificeOpportunities for professional development and leadership growthThe chance to work in a supportive, mission-driven organisation that values cultural preservation and community engagementBe part of a close-knit team committed to creating sustainable, positive impacts
