We are currently seeking a Departmental Officer , APS Level 6 could be based in ACT, VIC, or QLD.
Position Overview: As a Departmental Officer in the Pricing Changes team, you will be a key contributor to managing pricing applications for pharmaceutical items listed on the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS).
In this role, you will work alongside a dynamic team to deliver pricing outcomes, analyze complex data, and provide expert advice on pricing decisions.

Key Responsibilities: Assist the Executive Level 1 team lead in managing pricing applications for PBS-listed pharmaceutical items.
Conduct thorough assessments of pricing applications and provide expert advice on pharmaceutical pricing decisions.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive effective pricing outcomes.
Prepare and quality-assure written materials, including policy papers, reports, briefs, agenda papers, and correspondence.
Utilize research and analytical skills to synthesize complex data to support decision-making.
What You'll Need to Succeed: Mandatory: Degree in pharmacy or a related health technology assessment field (highly desirable for some positions).
Desirable: Recent pharmacy practice (community or hospital).
Understanding of the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) and its processes, or the ability to quickly learn.
Strong experience in the health sector, including pharmaceuticals, health economics, regulation, or supply chain management.
Experience in health policy/programs or compliance, along with knowledge of legislation administration, data analysis, and government writing.
Analytical and problem-solving skills with an attention to detail, both numerically and in written communication.
Proficiency in Excel or similar tools for data-related tasks.
Well-developed written communication skills, ideally in a policy context.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a timely manner while working with minimal supervision in a multidisciplinary team.
Additional Requirements: Ability to obtain and maintain Baseline security clearance.
