The Department of Tissue Pathology & Diagnostic Oncology at ICPMR Westmead is a large diagnostic referral service employing 100 medical, scientific, technical and administration staff. They must be well organized, possess good time management, communication and documentation skills. They must be able to prioritise tasks and work both autonomously and within a large team in both administrative and laboratory environments.
The DSO is required to have a working knowledge and/or understanding of pathology accreditation requirements (ISO 15189, NPAAC and NATA), experience with laboratory information systems and/or similar electronic patient / medical records system and well developed computer and keyboarding skills including use of procurement, payroll, and electronic quality systems, Microsoft Office applications and an ability to extract and present data accurately.
