The National Disability Insurance Scheme Evidence Advisory Committee is a non-statutory committee to be established by the Australian Government in 2025. The role of the NDIS Evidence Advisory Committee (EAC) is to provide expert, independent advice to government on the suitability of a broad range of supports for funding under the NDIS and what works for participants. The EAC will also provide advice on the evidence base for therapies, interventions and other services that assert therapeutic or capacity building benefits for people with a disability, as well as assistive technology and capital supports.
Technical subcommittees will make recommendations to and support the EAC. Members of the technical subcommittees will bring extensive subject matter expertise in a range of areas identified in the EAC workplan together with strong data analysis, research and evidence-based decision making across capacity building and therapies, assistive technology and economics.
Key Responsibilities Provide expert, independent advice on funding suitability under the NDIS. Advise on the evidence base for therapies, interventions, and assistive technology. Engage collaboratively with stakeholders at a national level. Analyze data and research to report on expected benefits for participants. Qualifications and Experience To be a strong contender for these important roles, Evidence Advisory Committee members will be recognised for their integrity, ethical decision-making; capacity to provide high-quality independent and transparent advice; excellent judgement; and ability to build trusted relationships and work collaboratively with Ministers and government and a wide range of stakeholders at a national level to achieve objectives.
Technical subcommittee members will demonstrate substantial experience in the analysis of data, academic research and other evidence to provide advice and reporting to the EAC about the expected benefits for participants, safety and cost-effectiveness of disability supports. Your expertise, professional standing and qualifications in a wide range of relevant fields will enable you to engage constructively to understand and interpret clinical and/or economic data to formulate evidence-informed advice.
