Senior Curator (Horticulture and Living Collections) This critical role is a key component of the Strategic Master Plan for the Botanical Gardens. You will use your management skills to lead the horticulture team, cultivate partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, oversee the implementation of the RTBG Living Collections Master Plan, and play a critical role in the assessment of tree health throughout the gardens while maintaining safety standards.
Our ideal candidate has Experience in horticulture and arboriculture. Experience managing or supervising teams. A growth mindset to learn new practices and contribute to the safety management of the site. We offer Access to ongoing training and development to support your career goals. Relocation may be considered for the right applicant. Up to 5 weeks annual leave a year (including 1 week between Christmas and New Year). Access to a syndicate of gyms and fitness centres across Tasmania at a reduced rate. A stunning workplace location at the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. About us Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (RTBG) is a State Government statutory body, governed under the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens Act 2002 and is administered by the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. A seven member RTBG Board is appointed by the Minister to manage the RTBG, with a director appointed to manage day-to-day operations within the Gardens.
