The Department of Logistics and Infrastructures undertakes the development and delivery of public infrastructure for the Northern Territory Government. The role delivers civil construction projects on the Minor New Works and Specific Maintenance programs, and provides technical support for the delivery of Capital Works projects. The successful applicant will be part of a project team, working on a portfolio of projects independently as either the Superintendents Representative/Nominee or project Site Representative. Everyday duties include project management, quality control, and providing technical advice to others in the department.
Key Responsibilities: Project manage technical aspects of civil infrastructure works, including roads, car parks, footpaths, boat ramps, drains, and intelligent transport systems infrastructure. Develop and implement comprehensive project estimates and tender documentation, and assess potential tenderers in line with the department's procurement policies. Track adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Liaise with clients and stakeholders to manage project expectations and compliance. Identify potential risks to the project and implement mitigation strategies as needed. Raise and report any work, health and safety hazards, breaches, and near misses. Prepare regular project reports, hand-over reports, and contractor performance reports. Skills and Experience: Minimum two years of experience in project management or a supervisory role within the civil construction industry. Proven track record in delivering civil infrastructure projects. Strong understanding of civil construction methodologies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in project management software. Tertiary qualification in civil construction or extensive work experience.
