The Facility and Assets group was established as a portion of the Barwon Precinct to provide local and contracted facility and asset management service that has consistent and transparent service levels. The Facility and Assets group provide facility and asset management services to HM Prison Barwon, Karreenga Annexe, Western Plains Correctional Centre, Statewide Services Building, and the Security and Emergency Services training ground plus operations centre.
About the Role The Facility and Assets, Plumber is responsible for the day-to-day management of all plumbing infrastructure and building condition and maintenance within a multi-disciplinary maintenance team. The role requires leadership, maturity, sound judgement and confidence in decision making. An important facet of the role involves liaison with internal staff and external stakeholders and preparation of analytical and informed contributions to develop and maintain the prisons plumbing and building infrastructure.
Some of your duties will include: Undertake plumbing within the Barwon Precinct facilities in accordance with Part 12A of the Building Act 1993 (Vic), Building Regulations 2018 (Vic), Plumbing Regulations 2018 (Vic), and National Construction Code Volume Three - Plumbing Code of Australia. Assist other trades in the delivery of their works. Undertake other non-trade related maintenance works. About you To be successful in this role, you will have:
Demonstrable experience in maintenance plumbing and fault finding. Demonstrable experience in Sanitary and Water Supply plumbing areas. Demonstrable experience in working autonomously. Qualifications Registration as a Plumber with the Victorian Building Authority is mandatory and is a requirement of this role. Licensure with the Victorian Building Authority in one or all of the following statutory plumbing areas is desirable: Drainage, Gasfitting, Roofing (stormwater), Sanitary, Water Supply, Fire Protection, Type A Gasfitting, Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV), and Backflow Prevention. How to Apply The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC) and misconduct screening.
