Clinical Nurse Consultant - Lead Practitioner Full time
$114,851 to $121,886 per annum + 11.5% super
The Department of Health is seeking suitably qualified applicants for a Clinical Nurse Consultant - Lead Practitioner (520634L1) vacancy. This position is also being advertised as an Allied Health Professional - Lead Practitioner (520634L1d) and only one position will be filled on merit.
The Team:
This role sits with the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS), which is part of the broader Child and Mental Health Service (CYMHS) and works with women experiencing mental illness and their infant children during the perinatal period. The role also provides in-reach to the Royal Hobart Hospital working with the Mother Baby Unit and clinics, as well as assessment and treatment of outpatients.
The Role:
The CNC-Lead Practitioner works as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide clinical care to a high standard within a designated program or region or statewide stream. Working within a Multidisciplinary team framework, and supporting other staff within the discipline, the CNC-Lead Practitioner will:
Ensure service delivery to children and young people, their families/significant others is in accordance with evidence-based practice, person-centred, trauma-informed and meets the requirements of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards, Legislative requirements, Agency Policy and relevant professional competencies. Actively contribute to the ongoing development of the program area and related change management processes through the implementation of the associated model of care, operational service model and clinical governance requirements. Provide high-level clinical knowledge and expertise to ensure clinical standards of care are met, and the requirements of the National Outcome Casemix collection (NOCC) are completed across the designated program area, region and/or statewide stream. Permanent full-time, day worker position, working up to 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. *Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary: $114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmanian State Service) Agreement 2023 You'll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Payment of $15,000 staged over three years is available for Nurses and Midwives who move to Tasmania from interstate and remain employed full-time for three years or more, on top of relocation allowance already available.
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type District Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family (King Island, Flinders Island, Cape Barren Island, Maria Island and Bruny Island) Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10% (Cape Barren Island, Flinders Island, King Island, Queenstown, Rosebery, Strahan and Zeehan) Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of an additional salary allowance of 4% (Beaconsfield, Bruny Island, Campbell Town, Deloraine, Esperance, George Town, Ouse, Scottsdale, Smithton, Southern Midlands, Swansea, St. Helens, St. Marys and Triabunna) Benefits available to eligible candidates:
Travel and relocation assistance support available up to $15,000 for eligible appointees. Professional development and accelerated pathways. Excellent leave benefits: 20 days annual leave (pro rata), 20 days personal leave (pro rata), and study assistance leave if eligible. Fitness Passport – You and your family can access 40+ fitness facilities across Tasmania for just $13.95 per week per person, or $25.95 for a family.
