Senior ICT Procurement Officer Canberra ACT
Reporting to the Assistant Director, ICT Procurement, you will help to ensure high-quality delivery of a range of procurement and contract management activities. The work area is primarily responsible for ensuring value for money and timely procurement outcomes across a broad range of ICT goods and services including contractors (labour hire), managed services, software/Cloud, and hardware/networks for the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR), and the department's portfolio/client agencies.
Leading a small team, the Senior ICT Procurement Officers will be monitoring renewals, supporting new purchases, drafting documentation in preparation for market approaches, seeking quotes, and creating/maintaining system-related procurement entries and records. The occupants will need to be motivated, well-organised, and have demonstrated ICT Procurement knowledge/experience including a working knowledge of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and associated policies. Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of procurement and contract management services will be a key focus.
The key duties of the position include: Drafting procurement-related documentation such as RFQs and work orders. Using procurement-related portals such as SAP and BuyICT (or similar) to process quote requests, locate procurement Master Agreements and templates, seek delegate approvals, publish contract details, raise purchase orders and process invoices. Procuring and managing delivery of ICT Procurement goods and services. Working within procurement frameworks, an understanding of these and how to apply them to achieve value for money outcomes. Managing a team and supporting deliverables through training, mentoring or guiding the work of team members. Please note, under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the APS unless the Agency delegate has agreed, in writing. This is a designated security assessed position. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain and maintain a Baseline security clearance.
