About The Department The role of the Department of Education is to support Victorians to build prosperous, socially engaged, happy and healthy lives.
It does this by supporting lifelong learning and healthy development, strengthening families and helping to equip people with the skills and knowledge for a 21st century economy and society.

About The Group Schools and Regional Services (SRS) offers central, regional, and local expertise to enhance learning and development outcomes, supported by a diverse and geographically dispersed workforce.
It comprises 17 areas within 4 regions, backed by 5 central office divisions, all collaborating to deliver improved outcomes for early childhood services, schools, communities, and learners, in line with Education State commitments.
SRS regions serve as a bridge between the central office, schools, and service providers, ensuring smooth transitions for learners and achieving the department's ambitious targets.
Each region includes divisions specialising in school performance, student wellbeing and early childhood support, working with area-based teams to tailor local interventions and practices.
The 17 areas provide crucial insights into local trends and issues, facilitating effective policy and program development and driving child and learner outcomes across all services and programs.

About The Role This role supports the delivery of the Shepparton Education Plan (the Plan).
The Plan covers four stages- Early Childhood, Primary School, Secondary School and Higher Education and Skills.
The Plan seeks to boost educational outcomes by giving young people more options and opportunities, improving the transition through each stage of education, building teaching and learning excellence, and high quality learning environments.

For education providers in Shepparton and Mooroopna, the challenges to achieving equity and excellence are particularly complex and multi-faceted.
The current secondary school delivery model means that the needs of children and young people, including access to specialist subjects, and wellbeing supports, are not being met.
As a result, enrolments across the four Government secondary schools have been declining over several years, and a high proportion of young people are not completing their secondary schooling.

The first stage of the Shepparton Education Plan involved a comprehensive review of secondary education provision based on education, industry and community consultation.
The Shepparton Education Plan has seen the four local secondary schools merge into one school as of 1 January 2020 – Greater Shepparton Secondary College.

The Shepparton Education Plan Senior Project Officer will support implementation of the Plan, including:
Leadership of the Plan stage 4: Higher Education and Skills The development of written documentation and implementation of a range of action and communications plans in collaboration with stakeholders to support the agreed recommendations Provision of the Secretariat role for Working Groups and Strategic Advisory Groups Reporting and liaison with the New Schools & Education Plan team, the VSBA, SRS/DE Central and other Place-Based Education Plans projects.
The Shepparton Education Plan endorsed plans for all four stages can be accessed at
