The Finance and Investment Division supports the department to be efficient, effective, and financially sustainable.
The division provides strategic financial advice and support to the department, the offices of the minister, and to industry stakeholders.
The division delivers on business objectives by partnering with the department, providing high quality customer service, advice and support, and a nationally consistent approach to business, with consideration to the government's fiscal environment, its significant reform agenda, and the department's imperative to maintain financial sustainability.

The Financial Operations Branch provides shared services for the department, including corporate services such as travel, credit cards, procurement, grants policy, advice and reporting, payroll services, procurement, accounts receivable, debt management, and accounts payable.
The branch also provides a project management and oversight role for some of the critical projects for the division.

The Travel, Credit Cards and Concur section provides helpdesk services, policy advice, and assistance with international and domestic travel, corporate credit cards, and Concur support and guidance to officials within the department to enable the effective and efficient conduct of business on behalf of the department.
This also includes working closely with service providers and Government agencies in meeting the WoAG arrangements.

The Job: Providing strategic advice, practical guidance and solutions on travel matters to business areas aligned to the Travel Resource Management Guide 404, Travel Resource Management Guide 405 and the Whole of Australian Government arrangements.Assisting with mandatory travel reporting requirements by analysing and maintaining travel data, including travel carbon emissions reporting.Leading the development, implementation and review of policies, processes and procedures that support efficiencies in the delivery of the domestic and international travel functions and guidance material.Developing cooperative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of service delivery outcomes and the department's objectives including assisting business areas to ensure compliance with travel processes and governance frameworks.Providing specialist/technical advice and proactively undertaking high level research, analysis, and project work.Being innovative to develop and implement process improvements and efficiencies within the team and the department.Assisting the team to ensure the department's travel intranet page remains up to date and aligns with any changes in the department.Developing standard operating procedures (SOPs) to document and improve work processes.Reviewing complex and sensitive transactional issues with a view to finding a solution.Occasionally managing the travel team to deliver travel advice to the department.Supporting the Director – Travel and Assistant Secretary as required.Please note: The merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.

What are we looking for: Knowledge and Experience: Able to self-manage, prioritise workloads and work within deadlines.Knowledge of operational requirements for the annual net zero reporting is desirable but not essential.Ability to analyse travel policy requirements while providing advice to the department.Ability to establish and manage internal and external stakeholder relationships, display resilience and develop productive working relationships.Experience in using financial management systems and analyse data/information by providing timely and accurate advice and communicate information specific to the role.Understand the Whole of Australian Government travel service arrangements.The ability to deliver outcomes in support of entity objectives, work to tight deadlines, and be able to get across new issues quickly. #J-18808-Ljbffr
