Who we are The Digital Business Division provides ongoing delivery support of these programs across FY25 and FY26 and seeks vendors to supply specialist digital and technology skills to augment the staffing of key projects across DBD's programs. STEPS is a department priority, and is a 3-year program, with a core objective to undertake a range of activities to ease importation congestion. This includes streamlining risk assessments, inspections and treatments; working with industry to provide ongoing compliance and assurance; providing greater visibility of consignments; and greatly enhancing our usage and deployment of data. It is a cross-divisional program, which will require engagement across our digital and business landscape. TFTM is a core component of the whole-of-government microeconomic trade reform. The department will over 5 years from 2020-25 deliver a program of reforms to digitise, modernise and improve the reliability of our systems. As we navigate the changing landscape of global markets, we are committed to making it easier to do business with us and export Australia's valuable products. When complete, TFTM program will provide exporters with faster, streamlined processes, new digital services and tools to transact with us.
The Job The Assistant Director, Executive Office, will work directly with the Executive Officer to the Chief Digital Business Officer and their team to support a range of integration and strategic coordination functions for the Division. The position will support a collaborative culture within the Division and enhance relationships with key stakeholders, provide targeted administrative support and coordinate key reporting measures. The Assistant Director will work with the Executive Officer to streamline the coordination of strategic initiatives, liaising across the Department where the Digital Business Division has an impact, and facilitating communication between Branch heads, line areas and external groups. The Assistant Director will oversee the preparation and coordination of Senate Estimate briefs, Executive briefs and presentations, reports, submissions, and management of critical tasks relevant to the successful delivery of the Digital Business Division.
Please note that the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.
What are we looking for Knowledge and experience The ideal candidate will have experience in supporting high-level executives and working across varied and complex work areas in a politically sensitive environment. You will be used to maintaining attention to detail when working in a fast-paced environment and know how to anticipate issues and act proactively. Further, understanding the Department's work and priorities, including experience and understanding of the broader coordination points and requirements within and outside of the Department would be beneficial.
