About the Role:Student Support Services works with schools and preschools to provide support to assist them in meeting the needs of all children.
Student Support Services are on a cultural response journey, as such we value and prioritise Aboriginal ways of knowing, doing and being.
The Self-Regulation Service provides proactive, targeted and intensive services to support the teaching and learning for children and students with complex needs, including those with trauma and/or self-regulation difficulties.
The Psychologist (Self-Regulation) reports to the Manager, Self-Regulation Service and will work collaboratively within a team of occupational therapists and educators to deliver specialised expertise in the application of self-regulation strategies in preschools and schools. The Psychologist will access clinical supervision from the Senior Psychologist (or delegate) at the local student support services education office.
The position will contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to enhance self-regulation across whole of site contexts, including contributing to the development and implementation of training packages, explicit modelling of strategies, establishment of small group interventions and support with data collection and analysis. The position will also require a broad knowledge of behaviour management and wellbeing approaches as they relate to children/students with complex needs, including the role of self-regulation and relating to others.
The Psychologist is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and works with children and young people with developmental, cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural and physical difficulties. The Psychologist works with preschool and school staff to develop evidence-based interventions that include proactive, targeted and intensive strategies that can be adapted for learning and home contexts.

Qualifications:Essential: Current and full registration (general) with the Psychology Board of Australia. Psychology Board of Australia approved supervisor.
Desirable: Area of practice endorsement - educational and developmental psychology and/or clinical psychology and/or counselling psychology.
Special Conditions:The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN-EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) Facilitator Lead (Masterclass) extended course or the online (Fundamentals) course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration:AHP3 $104,180 - $111,746 per annum (1.0 FTE) + superannuation (11.5%)
