Provide a high standard of dental assisting skills and practice, both clinical and administrative, to dental clinicians in the treatment of clients working in a multi-disciplinary team in a variety of work areas including hospital, community health and school program settings throughout the Torres and Cape Oral Health work unit.
To be successful in this role you will have: Demonstrated ability to deliver a high level of skill, capability, and knowledge in all aspects of dental assisting, including infection control and clinical support for all relevant age groups. Demonstrated ability to maintain a sound level of knowledge and skills relating to all aspects of dental assisting including clinical support for all relevant age groups, infection control, sterilisation, and waste segregation. Demonstrated ability to maintain a sound level of knowledge of dental terminology, equipment, instruments, materials, medicaments and relevant acts, regulations and Standards including Material Safety Data Sheets relating to clinical dental practice. Possession of a Queensland Dental Assistant's Proficiency Certificate III (TAFE) or equivalent is mandatory Possession of Sterilising Certificate III or equivalent is highly desirable but not essential Possession of Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is highly desirable but not essential Possession of Certificate IV in Dental Assisting (Oral Health Education) or equivalent is desirable but not essential Possession of Certificate IV in Dental Radiography is desirable but not essential For additional information regarding the responsibilities, mandatory qualifications and/or other requirements for this position please refer to the role description.
