In this Part time Dental Assistant role, you will work Monday and Wednesday 0730 to 1530 providing direct patient care.
As a Dental Assistant, you'll make a positive impact by:
You will be responsible for providing chair-side assistance to a Dentist/Dental Specialist/Hygienist You will assist with administrative tasks such as entering/updating patient records, as well as other duties as required You will assisting in the promotion of oral health to patients You will ensure compliance with all relevant standards and procedures, including accordance with Defence Policies & Procedures. You will contribute to the cleanliness and effectiveness of a dental surgery environment and maintaining optimal hygiene of the surgery About ADF Health Services
In partnership with Bupa, our ADF Health Services team provides integrated healthcare services to Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel across Australia.
This includes providing defence-ready clinical and support staff across 45+ on-base locations, ensuring that ADF personnel have access to quality on-site medical care.
About Oakey
Oakey Health Centre is located at the Army Aviation Centre (AAC) 3km outside Oakey. It is the training area for Australian Army Aviation and is home to the 126 Squadron (Cougar helicopters) of the Republic of Singapore Air Force. With approximately 500 members, the health centre provides primary medical, aviation medical, dental, nursing, physiotherapy, pharmaceutical and mental health services. It is also an emergency response to AAC. Health centre staff may be required to work across Cabarlah & Oakey. The standard operating hours of the centre are generally 0700-1630 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements will determine shift lengths).

You will be responsible for providing chair-side assistance to the Dentist/Dental Specialist/Hygienist in the delivery of dental services to patients. You will also assist with administrative tasks such as entering/updating patient records as well as other duties as required by the Dentist including promotion of oral health to patients and maintaining optimal hygiene of the surgery.
To be successful in this role you'll have:
Certificate III in Dental Assisting or nationally recognised equivalent qualification. Demonstrated compliance with relevant standards and procedures Minimum of 2 years' (full time equivalent) chair-side experience within the last 5 years. Recent participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities. Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification Please note:
You must be an Australian Citizen to obtain the required Baseline Security Clearance for this role. You don't need to be enlisted in the Defence Force to work as a civilian on-base and your job stays here, even if the Defence personnel you care for are deployed.
