Demi Chef at Hyatt Centric Melbourne: Based in the Melbourne CBD, the Demi Chef is a vital role within Hyatt Centric Melbourne's culinary team. The Demi Chef will be responsible for assisting with the smooth and efficient operation of the hotel's kitchens, by creating Melbourne's best dishes and experiences.
Some of the responsibilities include: To ensure that all dishes are prepared consistently and are of high qualityTo organize and set up their assigned section of the kitchen effectivelyTo assist the Chef De Cuisine in ensuring culinary standards comply with the Hyatt's policies, procedures and standardsEnsure all kitchens are kept hygienically clean and follow necessary food safety practicesTo assist management with the training of new associates when neededQualificationsAbout you: Previous experience as a Demi Chef or Commis Chef in a similar fast-paced, fine dining or a la carte environmentExperience with both Modern Australian and Classic European cuisine is preferredCapable of running the hot section of the kitchenHACCP and hygiene practices knowledgeAble to work in a fast-paced high-end restaurant or hotelWillingness to learn all aspects of the kitchen and work in both the restaurant and eventsGood communication skills, attitude and be a team playerCulture Statement: We Are Team Centric!
