Discover the Opportunity…. Opal is a major supplier of high volume custom printed folding cartons to brands across Australia and New Zealand, collaborating with our customers to develop unique, innovative folding carton packaging.
We have an exciting opportunity to join one of the largest packaging companies in Australia as our Banksmeadow site is looking for a Demand Planner to come onboard!
The key focus of this role will be to:
Use statistical models to generate accurate demand forecasts, with a focus on continuously improving forecasting accuracyConduct data and trend analysis, using the results to provide relevant insights to stakeholders to ensure well-informed decision makingProvide process capability and expert coaching/support and analysis to those accountable for achieving the demand plan and budget targetsMonitor consumption of the signed off demand plan and collaborate with the sales team to determine the root cause of any variancesContribute to the pre, in and post season planning process and where appropriate generate a SKU level forecast incorporating historical data, industry and customer assumptionsMeasure accuracy of the customer forecast and provide analysis to the sales team and support the sales team in customer collaboration meetings.We can offer a varied career journey with experiential learning gained from cross-functional and lateral moves.

For this role we would ideally like you to have:
3+ years of demand planning experience within a fast-paced environment with a large number of SKUsExperience in building and maintaining internal and external relationships with stakeholders, to identify and forecast industry trendsIntermediate to advanced experience with SAP is required (experience in using APO within SAP would be highly regarded)Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and listening (the ability to clearly explain and communicate complex data and trends)Strong analytical and technical skills with an ability to work with complex data setsPrevious experience working in a manufacturing environment would be viewed favourablyExcellent attention to detail and a data-driven mindsetApplications are open to both internal and external candidates.
