About the Job About the roleThe Public Transport Authority (PTA) is seeking a Delivery Manager specialised in Rollingtsock for our High-Capacity Signalling (HCS) Program. This role is pivotal in directing project engineering resources, effectively managing human, financial, and physical resources to enhance project delivery. The successful candidate will develop strong working relationships with stakeholders and industry ensuring seamless engineering design and execution of railcar modifications. Key responsibilities include leading the Rollingstock Engineering requirements, managing multi-disciplinary teams, and implementing Asset Management Plans for new railcar systems.In this dynamic role, you will manage the procurement, design, compliance verification, commissioning, and introduction of the PTA's new Digital Radio System and High-Capacity Signalling System into all the PTA Railcar fleet. You will oversee all facets of project management, including budget oversight, risk identification, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves providing specialist technical advice on depot infrastructure development and rollingstock assets, fostering a strong safety culture, and promoting innovative contract management practices. By cultivating strategic relationships with stakeholders and representing the PTA on external committees, you will ensure the successful delivery of critical transportation projects.About You!To excel in this role, you should possess:A relevant engineering qualification (preferably in mechanical or electrical engineering) suitable for admission as a Corporate Member to the Institute of Engineers Australia, along with considerable and relevant rolling stock engineering experience.Proven experience with national and international rail standards, demonstrated understanding, and experience in contract and project management.Strong leadership skills, including the ability to effectively manage and lead staff, consultants, contractors, and other resources to achieve agreed outcomes. Capability to mentor, develop, and motivate team members, providing clear advice and direction.Well-developed written and oral communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, work constructively in a team environment, and negotiate effectively.
