We are hiring a deli team member to join the team at our beautiful Sandy Bay Store! As a Deli Team Member, you'll provide exceptional service to deli customers, fulfilling their requests for fresh meat, poultry, fish, cold meats, small goods, salads, antipasto, ready-to-eat meals, and pastries. You'll keep displays fresh, beautiful, and full, make product recommendations, and offer tasters.
This role has the flexibility to be casual or part-time, depending on the successful applicant. Part-time minimum hours would be approx. 30 per week.
Experience working in a deli or within food retail is desirable; however, if you are keen to learn, have a can-do attitude, and are available during the daytime, we would love to hear from you!
You will need: A friendly attitude and good communication skills to provide the attentive customer service Hill Street is known for.To be comfortable handling meat and seafood (both cooked and uncooked).A love of working with people (both colleagues and customers).Energy, initiative, and willingness to take direction.The ability to follow company procedures and regulations, particularly regarding food handling and workplace health and safety.Ongoing daytime availability on at least 3-4 days per week and every second weekend. Pay rates are set by the General Retail Industry Award. The 2024-25 base hourly pay rates for level 1 adults are:
Full-time & part-time: Weekdays $25.65Saturday $32.06Sunday $38.48Casual: Weekdays $32.06Saturday $38.48Sunday $44.89Additional penalty rates apply to public holidays and some overtime and early morning shifts.
