How you will create an impact The DUA (Delegated Underwriting Authority) Lead role is an integral part of AIG's Underwriting team and will have ownership and accountability of the performance and results of all the DUAs, including oversight of centralised governance and compliance activities required to establish and implement a robust DUA governance framework across Australia and New Zealand.
Key accountabilities will include but are not limited to:
Overall responsibility for the financial management, performance and achievement of DUAsDefine local underwriting appetite within AIG guidelines using underwriting authority and portfolio management skill setsIdentify, support, and contribute to internal and external strategic plans that align product offeringsSupport growth opportunities, new business segments & product opportunities to achieve growth objectivesLead the due diligence process for new DUA opportunitiesEstablish yourself with clients, agents, brokers to be seen as a strategic thought leader in the fieldEnsure alignment amongst underwriting staff and leads on interaction with various functionsLead the development, implementation and maintenance of DUA governance processes and systemsSupport the DUA Audit process ensuring schedules and audit findings/actions are deliveredDrive and support DUA governance disciplines and capability across the businessDeliver execution of relevant tasks in line with the organisation's strategic prioritiesContinuous process improvement and issue identificationWork effectively across the business with Profit Centre Managers and other teamsDrive a team culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, diversity and inclusion.What you'll need to succeed A commercial thinker with deep knowledge of insurance and financial services industryProven leadership experience with detailed knowledge of underwriting and DUA governance processesStrong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with stakeholdersSound knowledge of risk, compliance and audit management frameworksStrong time management, analytical, problem-solving and project execution skillsDemonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage conflicting prioritiesExperience in producing high-quality detailed reportsExperience in process implementation with ability to engage and collaborate across multiple areasStrong business acumen, with a proven track record of making sound judgment backed by strong analytical skills.Ready to make a bigger impact?
