How you will create an impact The DUA (Delegated Underwriting Authority) Lead role is an integral part of AIG's Underwriting team and will have ownership and accountability of the performance and results of all the DUAs, including oversight of centralised governance and compliance activities required to establish and implement a robust DUA governance framework across Australia and New Zealand.
As a leader, you reach across geographical and functional boundaries to create alliances that further the organization's objectives and market position.
Your deep and broad industry knowledge allows you to foresee external conditions that could potentially affect AIG's future.

Key accountabilities will include but are not limited to: Overall responsibility for the financial management, performance and achievement of DUAs.Define local underwriting appetite within AIG guidelines using underwriting authority (local delegation) and portfolio management skill sets to achieve Risk Adjusted Profit targets as set by the company.Identify, support, and contribute to internal and external strategic plans that align product offerings.Support growth opportunities, new business segments & product opportunities to achieve growth objectives.Lead the due diligence process for new DUA opportunities.Establish yourself with clients, agents, brokers to be seen as a strategic thought leader in the field.Ensure alignment amongst underwriting staff and leads on interaction with Distribution, Claims, Actuarial, Operations, Finance and other functions to achieve product and company goals.Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of DUA governance processes and systems in accordance with AIG underwriting standards.Support the DUA Audit process ensuring schedules and audit findings/actions are delivered.Drive and support DUA governance disciplines and capability across the business, increasing adoptability.Deliver execution of relevant tasks in line with the organisation's strategic priorities and provide necessary regular updates and risk reporting to the relevant stakeholders/Committees.Continuous process improvement and issue identification, working to resolve with the necessary parties.Work effectively across the business with Profit Centre Managers, Distribution, Risk, Compliance & Legal teams to ensure regulatory requirements are met and compliant.Drive a team culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, diversity and inclusion, exemplary conduct, employee engagement and performance excellence. What you'll need to succeed A commercial thinker with deep knowledge of insurance and financial services industry; an ability to determine how external changes or decisions will impact the company, and plan accordingly.Proven leadership experience with detailed knowledge of underwriting and DUA governance processes.Strong communication skills and ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.Sound knowledge of risk, compliance and audit management frameworks.Strong time management, analytical, problem-solving and project execution skills.Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage and deliver on conflicting priorities.Experience in producing high-quality detailed reports with excellent attention to detail.Experience in process implementation with ability to engage, influence & collaborate across multiple areas.Strong business acumen, with a proven track record of making sound judgment backed by strong analytical, quantitative, process and systems skills.
