Defence Housing Australia (DHA) is a nationally recognised Government Business Enterprise (GBE) with the primary role of providing housing and related services to Defence and their families.
DHA manages one of Australia's largest national housing portfolios of about 17,000 properties and has an opportunity for experienced Risk and Assurance Officers to join the team.
About your team
The Governance and Communication Group is responsible for facilitating and administering compliance with DHA's legislative requirements and overarching governance frameworks, as well as all communication and media activities.
About the role
We are looking for two motivated professionals to join our team, supporting two or more of the following functions: risk management, internal audit, assurance, compliance, and business continuity.
These roles offer the opportunity for you to contribute to a range of governance functions and help DHA leadership to gain confidence in DHA's system of internal controls.
You will work collaboratively with a close-knit group of teams to achieve DHA's commitment to excellence in governance.
This is a great opportunity to gain a wealth of experience working closely across the business and with DHA leadership, and eventually to lead a key function under the supervision of an Assistant Director.
There is a clear pathway to career development in various governance-related disciplines.
You will likely work across the business and the leadership to design and execute fit-for-purpose assurance activities.
In this role, you are expected to:
Contribute to enterprise-level programs to change behaviours and practices across the organisation.
Apply analytical and problem-solving skills creatively to gather information, research, investigate and provide appropriate recommendations/solutions.
Manage stakeholders and use appropriate communication styles and skills to tailor to different audiences.
