CPC Services (NQ) Pty Ltd trading as Coral Expeditions is Australia's pioneering cruise line, specialising in a unique style of immersive adventures by small expedition ship. With humble beginnings hosting cruises on the Great Barrier Reef, the company has grown into a borderless fleet of three ships carrying between 72 and 120 guests. For four decades, Coral Expeditions has operated with a single purpose – to take small groups of likeminded explorers to remote places with expert guidance and warm Australian hospitality. In 2023, we have returned to international sailings including New Zealand, Japan, Papua New Guinea, and Islands of Indonesia.
The role
To support the operation, we are seeking an experienced Deck Officer to join our fleet of ships who is well presented, has a bright attitude and is a team-oriented individual to join our onboard Deck team. Rosters will require a commitment of up to 6-8 weeks duration.
What we are looking for
Duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
Stand a bridge watch at sea or at anchor. Assist with chart and publication corrections. Assist with passage planning. Assist with the induction paperwork. Assist with daily ship maintenance. Ensure compliance of all regulations, codes of conduct, standards and company policies at all times. Assist all crew in their understanding of International Safety Management systems (ISM). Operate Xplorers and/or zodiacs as required. Assist with completion of PMS tasks as directed. Provide guests with accurate and detailed information on the cruising area and its environs, in an interesting and hands-on manner. The minimum requirements are: Deck Watchkeeper. ECDIS. GMDSS. Remote First Aid/CPR Certificate. AMSA Medical. Proficiency in Survival Craft. ASSB. Passenger ship experience preferred but not essential.
