Permanent Role$60-70K PACairns QLDPOSITIONFull time position is available for a Deck Hand in Cairns, QLD 4870.SkillsThe role requires you to hold at least a Certificate III and at least 1 year of relevant employment experience. If no relevant qualification, at least 2 years of relevant employment experience is required.ResponsibilitiesA deck hand is responsible for the general maintenance, operation and safety of a vessel. Your duties include cleaning and maintaining the deck, handling ropes and lines during docking and undocking, and ensuring that all safety equipment is in working order.TASKSManage and operate boating equipment such as ropes, wires and mooring lines.Handle ropes during docking and undocking procedures including throwing, catching and securing lines.Coordinate with other staff to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the boat.Assisting guests to safely embark and disembark off the boat.Conduct routine maintenance and inspections of equipment to ensure good working order.Be aware of, perform and adhere to Workplace Health and Safety policies/procedures and in house policies/procedures.Ensure excellent and professional client service by being courteous, welcoming, and informative by answering customer questions and providing information.Use strong and effective communication methods with staff and guests.Additional SkillsPADI Divemaster QualificationMaster VMED IIADDITIONAL ATTRIBUTESKnowledge of the ReefThe ability to consistently be a part of a strong vessel crew delivering outstanding experiences to our guests.Strong communication skills.SALARY$60,000 – $70,000 based on experience.TO APPLYApplications in Word format should be forwarded to us by clicking the 'Apply' button below.Seniority levelEntry levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustriesHuman Resources Services
