The Opportunity The Decarbonisation Analyst engages in the development and assessment of decarbonisation initiatives and projects, whilst providing internal leadership on emerging trends, frameworks, industry benchmarks, third party rating tools, regulatory or legislative changes, and issues in the mining sector to help the Company maintain competitive advantage and adopt new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities Drives business alignment to published Roadmap to Net Zero EmissionEngages in the development, assessment and implementation of decarbonisation initiatives and projectsSupports reporting and analysis to ensure key monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines are achievedSupports external assurance and compliance processes (e.g., NGERs, Safeguard Mechanism, Climate Risk, etc.)Provides synthesis on emerging trends, frameworks, industry benchmarks, third party rating tools, regulatory or legislative changes, and issues in the mining sector to help the Company maintain competitive advantage and adopt new business opportunitiesDelivers company-wide external and internal decarbonisation reporting and analyticsCollaborates with company leaders to develop appropriate goals, metrics and processes for measuring MinRes' decarbonisation performanceMonitors key decarbonisation indicators and as necessary, works to identify measures to mitigate and reverse negative trendsInvestigates and develops new tools to improve and streamline decarbonisation reportingBuilds and maintains comprehensive knowledge of decarbonisation initiatives and assists with the implementation of decarbonisation initiatives across the businessKnowledge of relevant state and federal legislation and international frameworks in the areas of climate change and decarbonisationWhat is Required Bachelors Degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering or similarHighly proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPointFluent in English and effective communication, research and report writing skillsKnowledge of, and experience in decarbonisation approaches and climate strategyExperience with corporate sustainability reporting, data management and/or external assurance desiredTrack record of success and achievement, project managing sustainability initiativesUnderstanding of environmental, economic, social and governance trends within the mining industryUnderstanding of the fundamentals of climate science, climate mitigation, climate adaptation, and of the role of the types of energy in the energy transitionExperience working with energy/ mining or consulting sectors and exposure to energy assessments and financial modellingStrong research skills and ability to analyse and interpret data to create reportsAbility to practically apply your expertise to implement solutions, driving sustainability outcomesAbout Mineral Resources MinRes is a leading diversified resources company with extensive operations in lithium, iron ore, energy and mining services across Western Australia.
