Convenient location near public transportation, flexibility for remote workingFull TimeAbout this Opportunity: The Dean of Studies and Senior Lecturer is responsible for lecturing and leading the strategic leadership and management of learning and teaching practices, ensuring academic excellence across Alphacrucis University College (AC) courses.
This role contributes to the achievement of the College's mission and strategic goals and ensures compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF), Vocational Education and Training (VET) Quality Framework, and National Micro-credentials (MC) Framework.
The role also fosters a vibrant research culture and engages with global theological communities.

Responsibilities: Develop unit plans in line with the unit outlines to meet specified course and graduate outcomes.Lecture as required on undergraduate and postgraduate levels.Mark students' work and provide constructive feedback for improvement.Be research active and contribute to the institution's scholarly output.Take responsibility for benchmarking academic programs with other providers.Coordinate and deliver seminars for Master's degree students.Present papers and attend seminars locally and overseas using allocated budgeted amounts over three years.Develop and deliver online lectures for flexible learning.Collaborate with the principal to expand AC's training programs to different parts of the world.Organise and facilitate weekly professional development meetings for the faculty.Lead the Teaching and Learning Committee.Attend and participate in faculty meetings.Coordinate seminars and visits by international scholars in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.Communicate theological insights on a popular level via the AC website and other publications.Participate actively in the Research Institute.Contribute to the ongoing critical review and enhancement of course curricula.Engage in the spiritual formation of students outside the formal lecture setting as required.Ensure compliance with all relevant educational standards and frameworks, including the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF).Drive inter-disciplinary collaboration and external stakeholder engagement to enhance curriculum, pedagogy, and student support services.Oversee moderation processes for curriculum, teaching, and assessment.Required Skills and Proficiencies: Completion of an accredited teaching qualification from an Australian university.PhD or working towards a doctorate in a relevant discipline.Significant teaching experience in a relevant discipline.Active involvement in research and scholarship of Learning and Teaching.Leadership experience in academic quality assurance and enhancement within tertiary education.Comprehensive knowledge of current trends in tertiary education, policy, and regulation.Understanding of benchmarking practices and academic quality assurance.Familiarity with online and flexible learning pedagogies.Understanding of Professional Accrediting Authority requirements (e.g., NESA, ACECQA, PACFA, ACA, CPA, CAANZ).Strong lecturing capability: excellent verbal, physical and written communication.Strong strategic thinking, project management, and leadership abilities.High-level interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.Ability to manage large-scale projects and lead teams effectively.Knowledge of the Higher Education Standards Framework, VET Quality Framework, and National Micro-credentials Framework.Familiarity with academic governance and risk management processes.Excellent verbal and written presentation skills for lecturing.Commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with AC's mission and values.Flexibility and a proactive approach to change.Strong organisational and time management skills.Willingness to undertake further study and professional development as required.Growth mindset and the ability to mentor and coach others.Successful development and delivery of academic programs.Active contribution to the institution's research profile.Effective leadership of committees and faculty development initiatives.Positive feedback from students and faculty.Expansion of training programs to global regions.Continuous improvement in academic quality and course delivery.How to apply: To apply for this role please click on the 'Apply Now' link and complete the online application.APPLICATIONS CLOSE 13 January 2025, unless filled prior to this date.PLEASE NOTE: Due to high volumes of applications, only those shortlisted will be contacted.If you have any enquiries regarding the details of this role, please email ******Your application will include the following questions:
