Nurturing the Catholic and Augustinian life of the College through prayer, liturgy, and reflection.Overseeing the spiritual and faith development programs for students, ensuring that these initiatives are inclusive and engaging.Supporting the professional development of staff in areas related to ministry, mission, and identity.Building and fostering a sense of community among students, staff, parents, and the broader Villanova family, through effective communication, collaboration, and participation in mission and service activities.Supporting the implementation of the College's strategic plan, particularly in relation to mission and identity, and guiding the College community in its ongoing faith formation journey.Managing the mission and identity budget, overseeing the coordination of liturgies, retreats, and other faith-based initiatives, and ensuring the smooth operation of these programs.Key Selection CriteriaCommitment to Catholic Faith and Charism - demonstrated active membership in the Catholic Church with a strong commitment to promoting its teachings, along with a clear understanding of the Augustinian charism.Leadership and Experience in Catholic Education - a minimum of five years' teaching experience in a Catholic school, with proven success in a leadership role (e.g., Curriculum Area Leader, Pastoral Area Leader) and the ability to foster community among staff, students, and parents.Expertise in Religious Education - extensive teaching experience, preferably in Religious Education, with a strong ability to integrate faith into the curriculum and school life.Communication and Interpersonal Skills - exceptional communication skills, demonstrated across a range of formal and informal settings, with the ability to build relationships and engage effectively with staff, students, and parents.Educational and Professional Qualifications - postgraduate qualifications in education, leadership, religious education, theology, or a related field, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing professional development.Essential Qualifications & ExperienceTertiary qualifications in Education, Religious Education, Theology, or a related field.Minimum of five years' teaching experience, preferably in a Catholic educational setting.Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.A demonstrated commitment to professional development, particularly in the areas of mission, ministry, and Catholic education.Why Villanova College?Villanova College offers a supportive and collaborative working environment where staff are valued and professional growth is encouraged.We are committed to the wellbeing of both staff and students and strive to create an environment where the Augustinian values of community, humility, interiority, and the search for truth are lived daily.This is a full-time, fixed-term senior leadership position with a five-year appointment cycle (2025-2029), complemented by a permanent teaching position.How to ApplyTo apply, please submit your application, including a cover letter (no more than two pages) addressing the key selection criteria, a current resume, and the contact details of two referees, by 4pm, Monday 25 November 2024.Applications should be submitted via Seek.
