As the Executive Director, Professional Standards and Performance, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of Integrity Services, Corporate Governance, and the Program Management Office.
You will lead these functions in the development, implementation and effective management of departmental policies, strategies and processes to support statutory requirements.
You will provide advice and support across the department in integrity and complaints management, whole of government reporting and lead the engagement and negotiation of sound governance practices across the department to enable the delivery of government priorities more broadly across the portfolio.
As the Executive Director, you will also lead the whole of department Program Management Office to ensure key project and program deliverables are monitored, reported to stakeholders, and delivered on time within anticipated key performance metrics.
Specific responsibilities include:
Provide independent, authoritative and confidential advice to the Director-General, Deputy Director-General, Corporate Services, and executives across the department to ensure that governance arrangements, policies and practices reflect the consistent high performance and professional standards expected of the organisation.
Provide strategic leadership in effectively managing the department's external and internal reputation, through best practice risk management, effective communication and building a high performing culture.
Work as a critical partner with the Executive Leadership Team in managing and delivering key strategic corporate governance activities through the provision of timely briefings, advice and negotiation.
Drive the planning and performance culture of the department to shape its long-term strategic direction and exceed performance objectives and work collaboratively with leaders of central agencies to provide a whole-of-portfolio approach to delivering on government priorities.
Oversee the implementation of new approaches to the department's processes, strategies, and outcomes informed by professional expertise, experience, and evidence to optimise performance and service delivery across the workforce.

What we are looking for
Proven success and contribution in ensuring that the organisation is managed with the highest levels of integrity and probity and proactively manage and anticipate risks which may impact operations.
Strong background in program management and delivery, with successful leadership support in multiple complex, high profile, and high-cost programs and projects.
Record of success as a leader in a large and complex organisation and extensive experience across the public, private and/or not for profit sector.
Proven track record as an agent of change in challenging environments and in fostering a confident and capable workforce.
