About the role Due to its growing presence in the Australian higher education sector, AIPC is seeking applications from experienced senior academics for the position of Dean – Higher Education. The Dean – Higher Education will work closely with academic teams to support academic quality, integrity, review and improvements. The Dean will generate academic strategies and implement plans to improve efficiency while achieving quality student learning experiences.
This role presents an attractive opportunity for the right candidate to evolve their academic career to Academic Level D. It is a role focused on academic leadership, developing academic leadership capability and team capacity, and higher education teaching & learning quality. Funded scholarly activity and research is actively supported.
Responsibilities include: Leading and supporting academic teams in delivering high quality higher education courses.Undertaking academic and course reviews and making appropriate recommendations and improvements.Developing and implementing plans for academic and course improvements.Inspiring and supporting excellent academic standards and service.Upholding a positive leadership approach that encourages academic quality and student satisfaction.Monitoring and reporting on academic outcomes, teaching and learning plans, and student metrics.Managing and participating in academic governance processes and committees.Developing academic leadership capability.Enhancing student engagement and retention, particularly of mature-age online students.Minimum Requirements: A recognised PhD or Doctorate.Evidence of a successful track record in leading higher education courses, subjects and services.Evidence of current and high-quality teaching skills in higher education contexts.Excellent liaison, negotiation and collaborative capability.Scholarly activity representative of the academic level.To Apply: If this sounds like you, please submit your application, attaching your Resume and Cover outlining how you meet the requirements for this position.
